How to Set the Home Corner of the iDraw H SE Pen Plotter and Description of the Coordinate System

The iDraw H SE Pen Plotter allows flexible control of the "Home Corner" (origin point), essential for aligning drawings correctly. You can either use the default full-bed origin or set a custom home position for smaller paper sizes.

Option 1: Default Home Corner (Full Paper Mode)

Instructions:

  • Face the machine from the front, as shown above.
  • The default Home Corner is set to the upper right corner of the machine’s working area.
  • This is ideal for full-size paper or when using the entire plotter area.
  • Use the “Home” button in your software (like Inkscape with AxiDraw extension) to return the pen to this default origin.

Option 2: Custom Home Corner (Small Paper Mode)

Instructions:

  1. Turn off the machine.
  2. Gently move the pen holder by hand until the pen tip is at the upper right corner of your small paper, like the image above.
  3. This position will now act as your new Home Corner after powering the machine back on.
  4. Start your drawing from this location to keep everything aligned with your smaller paper.

Coordinate system description

The machine coordinates are shown in the figure, the long axis of the machine is the X axis and the short axis is the Y axis.

The horizontal and vertical layout coordinates in inkscape correspond to the following figure:

⚠️ Note: Always move the pen manually only when the machine is powered off to avoid damaging the stepper motors.
